March Recap: Celebrating Birthdays, St. Patrick's Day, and Easter

Only three weeks since my last post - maybe I will slowly get more consistent with blogging as this year keeps going.  Hard to believe it is the end of March and Easter has already come and gone!

Earlier this month we were thrilled to host my parents and Mary Katherine for my birthday weekend.  We started Saturday with brunch at a new-to-us restaurant in Dallas: Ida Claire.  Everything was scrumptious, and we can't wait to go back.

Mom and Dad provided some much needed wise counsel during a trip to a nursery for some new plants, and we had a great evening grilling steaks, playing a board game, and eating delicious strawberry birthday cake.  Sunday morning was church for all, and we loved having them in Sunday school and the service with us!

The next weekend took us to Jackson for an engagement party, a long overdue reunion with some of my law school friends, and the Jackson St. Patrick's Day parade.  We had such a great time in one of my favorite places on earth.  We made the drive early Friday morning and got to town just in time for me to meet Deanna and Rebecca for lunch at Beagle Bagel.  After lunch I got to meet my friend Sue Ann's precious new baby girl which was such a treat!  Friday night we got to catch up with law school friends and celebrate at an engagement party.  Then Saturday was the big parade, and despite the cool and windy weather, we had a ball!  The visit passed too quickly, as always, and I can't wait for the next one.

Today was a wonderful celebration of our risen savior, and we loved having Buddy and Suann in town this weekend to celebrate Easter and Suann's birthday!  For the third year in a row, we participated in our church's annual Easter Run on Saturday morning, then we had a fun day of shopping, lunch at Kuby's, enjoying the beautiful weather outside, and playing our new favorite board game, Ticket to Ride.  This morning was another great Easter Sunday at First Baptist Dallas followed by Easter lunch at our house before Buddy and Suann headed home.  As always, we loved having them and had a wonderful weekend together.

So thankful for a March full of family, friends, and celebrations!

  1. What a wonderful few weeks!! Your birthday celebration looks like a lot of fun (and brunch looked amazing). Hope y'all had a happy Easter!!

  2. What a busy few weeks y'all have had! Love your Easter centerpiece, so cute, and that strawberry cake just looks divine! I think it's so neat that your church holds an annual Easter run. My BIL would love that!!

    Glad y'all had a great Easter! :)

  3. A great way to celebrate birthday! Cuban Dance parties are very popular in Houston and usually there are many venues in Houston which host them. Fondly remember attending a similar party last year. Had enjoyed a lot there.
